"Kuudentena vuorossa järkälemäinen Orbitears. Kyseessä siis aika raskas pala vahvalla tunnelmalla - jos aiemmin mentiin duurissa, niin nyt mennään raskaasti mollissa, ainakin suurimman osan biisiä. Rakenne on periaatteessa simppeli, mutta ideoiden varioinnin takia ei ehkä siltä vaikuta. Kappale oli juurikin rakenteensa takia hankala ja pyöri pitkään työpöydällä, onneksi kuitenkin valmistui, koska levykokonaisuuden kannalta biisistä muodostui hyvinkin tärkeä, ellei jopa kliimaksipiste. Kappaleen pohjalla pyörii saman rytmin variaatioita, joka paljastetaan kokonaisuudessaan vasta lopussa. Kyseessä on varmaan myös nopein ja äkkiväärin biisi levyllä kuudestoistaosien hinkkaamisen takia vaikka keskitempossa mennäänkin. Vaikka tunnelma on raskas ja synkkä, vastapainoa tuo kitaran ylemmiltä kieliltä vapaana soitettavat kuviot. Oli myös äänitysvaiheessa vaikein biisi varmaan jokaiselle soittajalle, kertonee jotain kappaleen luonteesta. Vaikka osa biisiä voi olla nopeutensa ja variointien takia hankalaa kuunneltavaa, kertosäe tarjoilee jälleen tarttuvuutta ja sillä mehustellaan varsinkin biisin lopussa. Avaruudessa lennellään."

"Tekstin idea valkeni heti nimen ja grafiikan luonnostelun jälkeen. Tekstissä pyöritellään sisäisten ja ulkoisten heikkouksien ja vahvuuksien ristiriitoja verhottuna avaruudellisiin vertauskuviin. Punaiseen jättiläiseen piikitellään (a)steroideja ja lihasta esitellään sisäisien heikkouksien suojana. Loppua kohti kuitenkin tuntemukset ottaa niskalenkin ja egosysteemi romahtaa alas hajottaen sen takaisin alkuperäisiksi partikkeleiksi samalla kuluttaen loppuun punaisen jättiläisen ainoan polttoaineen. Seurauksena räjähdys, supernova ja kiertolaiset jäävät vaille ydintä. Siinäpä sitä kliimaksia riittääkin. Biisissä myös vieraileva laulusolisti, rumputaiteilija Tikka ilmaisee itseään mikin edessä parin säkeen verran, spesiaalimeininkiä siis ehdottomasti."

"The sixth song is ponderous Orbitears. The song is quite heavy to ingest with a strong ambiance - many other songs on the record were mostly in major but this song is mainly heavily in minor. The structure is basically very simple but due to some variations it may not seem so. The structure was the very thing which postponed finishing the song, fortunately it was finished because it turned out to be very important regarding the album as a whole, maybe even the climax. The basis of the song consists of different variations of a rhythm which is revealed completely in the end of the song. It must be the fastest and the most abrupt song on the record because of the sixteenth note riffs even though the tempo is only around 150 bpm. The ambiance is heavy and sad but guitar riffs played open on the higher strings bring a bit lightness for the song. It must've been the most difficult song for every player while recording, guess it explains the character of the song a bit. Regardless the songs heaviness in terms of listenability chorus gives something to grab and it's put to use especially in the end of the song. Floating somewhere in the space."

"The idea for the text perceived right after scheming the graphic and title. The text is about contradictions between internal and external weaknesses and strenghts written in spacy metaphors. A steroid is injected into the red giant and the muscle is shown as a shield for the internal weaknesses. However, finally the feelings starts to rule and the egosystem collapses breaking it down into original particles while exhausting its only fuel. As a consequence an explosion takes place creating supernova and the orbiters are left without nucleus. I guess that's enough for a climax. In additional our guest vocalist, drum artist Tikka is expressing himself in front of the microphone for a couple of verses, so we are really talking about very special stuff."

"Visual Angle a.k.a. Visulahti eroaa tyyliltään levyn muista kappaleista. Eikä ihme. Biisi syntyi allekirjoittaneen ja JK:n yhteistyönä – basistina iskin pöytään rytmiset ideat, joita JK täydensi kitarasovituksilla ja melodioilla. Nimenomaan rytmillisesti Visual Angle epätavallisine tahtilajeineen erottuukin Egorb:n muista kappaleista; toisaalta melodioissa lennellään levylle hyvin tyypillisessä sointuavaruudessa. Kuulijalle voi tulla yllätyksenä, että tämä reilu neljän minuutin pituinen ralli perustuu pohjimmiltaan vain kahteen riffiin. Intron kitaralead esittelee kappaleen kantavista ideoista ensimmäisen. Kappaleen sävellysvaiheessa, keväällä 2016 en suunnitellut sitä osaksi kappaletta vaan soitin sen muille havainnollistaakseni pääriffin aika-arvoja. JK kuitenkin tykästyi juuri tuohon leadiin ja niinpä siitä tuli merkittävä osa lopullista kappaletta. Kuten neljässä edeltävässä biisissä, myös Visulahden hittikertsi saa lanteet keinumaan. Riffi on jo pari vuotta odotellut pöytälaatikossa paikkaansa. Nyt kun sopiva konteksti löytyi, niin pakkohan se oli sovittaa mukaan.  C-osassa ja outrossa mehustellaan edelleen jo A-osasta tuttua riffiä. Muutamalla simppelillä muutoksella saatiin paremmat groovet aikaiseksi. Viimeisiä silauksia mietittiin erään mökkiviikonlopun pimeinä tunteina ja säveltäjien mopedi lähti ehkä hieman keulimaan.  Lopputuloksena syntyneen outro-jyystön tahtilajia emme ole selvittäneet vielä tänäkään päivänä."

 "Visulahti ponnahti esille bassotaitelijalta aika myöhäisessä vaiheessa, mutta onneksi kuitenkin varoitteli tulevasta biisistä, niin tiesin alkaa hahmottelemaan tekstiä, pieni haju tekstistä olikin pyörinyt mielessä jo jonkin aikaa. Teksti syntyi tosi nopeasti grafiikoineen ja oli aika kivuton prosessi. Erikoinen tahtilaji kaipaili vastapainoksi vähän yksinkertaisempaa laulusovitusta ja tekstiä-  vähän sanoja mutta paljon asiaa. Lyhyesti teksti käsittelee toisen asemaan asettumista ja asioiden näkemistä eri tavoin kuin omasta näkökulmasta. Tästä selkein esimerkki lienee sokeus, erityisesti syntymäsokeus. Sokean totuus valosta on erilainen kuin näkevän. Silmillään näkevä ei välttämättä näekään kaikkea. Tekstissä tapahtuukin jonkinlainen valaistuminen, jossa sokea kykeneekin näkemään 'kolmannen silmänsä' kautta. Aika mystistä tekstiä tuli..."

”Visual Angle sounds different than the other songs of the record. And no wonder. It was written by collaborating insane artists PP and JK – As a bass player, it was only natural for me to come up with rythmical ideas for the song and JK added the melodies and guitar arrangements. It is particularly the odd rhythm that seperates this song from the rest of the record. However, melodies represent the signature ”Egorb” vibes that make you feel like you’re floating in space. It might be surprising to the listener that Visual angle basically consists of no more than two riffs, although it lasts over four minutes. The intro guitar lead exhibits the first main idea of the song. In spring 2016, when I was writing the song, I played the lead to other band members to demonstrate the time signatures of the main riff. Originally, I didn’t intend to include that lead to the song but JK liked it and so it plays a major part in the final version of the song. As in the previous four songs in the record, the hit chorus in ”Visual Angle” definitely makes listeners rock their hips. The chorus riff is actually a few years old but it just took time to find a nice place for it. Now that we had a perfect context I just had to throw it in. The C-section and outro further elaborate the possibilities of the main riff. With just a couple of simple arrangements we managed to make many more groovy variations. The song received its final stroke of brush during late hours of a one camping weekend – you cand definitely tell that the composers lost their final sense of clarity. As a result, even we haven’t figured out the outro-groove of the song."

"The song appeared quite late but luckily the bass artist was giving some warnings beforehand so I knew to start writing the text, had some ideas for the text already though. The writing process was very quick and effortless as well as the graphic. The different time signature of the song seemed to require a simple vocal track - a few words with a lot of content. In short the text is about taking other persons perspective, seeing things differently. The best example of this must be blindness, especially when being borned blind. The truth about light of a blind person is different than the persons who's able to see. And the person who's seeing through his/her eyes is not able to see everything necessarily. Finally an enlightenment takes place in the text as the blind person starts to see through 'the third eye' . Quite mystical text..."

"Neljäntenä vuorossa Levity. Vähän erikoisempi tunnelmapala tähän väliin. Alun valmistuttua biisintynkä pyöri aika pitkään edistymättä mutta ideat vaikutti toimivilta, niin pitihän se loppuun asti tehdä. Taisi olla kevättalvea, kuten monen muunkin kappaleen valmistuminen. Varmaan groovaavinta SkiZmaa ikinä, triolibiisi melkein alusta loppuun ihan onnistuneella tempomuutoskikalla. Aika positiivinen ja energinen lataus myös tässä biisissä. Puhdasta (noh, melodista, lue: ei-örinää) laulua koko biisi, jonkinlaista tarttuvuuttakin voi siis löytyä. Kertsi on jälleen poppia, ehdotonta sytkärinheiluttelusettiä. C-osassa saavutetaan groovauksen kliimaksipiste ihan viihdyttävällä riffillä, tempokikkailua myös havaittavissa, tuli aika hämärä siitä. Viimeiseseen kertsiin tuli melkosta fiilistelyä, huhhuh. Aika erilainen biisi muihin verrattuna tällä lätyllä juurikin tietynlaisen 'keveyden' takia. Tämän myötä levy onkin jo puolivälissä."

"Tekstit valmistuivat joskus kesällä, sisältö oli kysymysmerkki pitkään. Lopulta homma kirkastui kun sain nivottua pari eri asiaa yhteen ja grafiikka alkoi selkeytyä. Tekstissä pyöritellään pääasiassa omien ajatusten pakoilua ja niiden hukuttamista mielikuvitusten tuotteisiin esim. televisioon tahi muuhun viihteeseen, puhelimen jatkuvaan räpläämiseen jne. Ajatukset tulevat ja menevät kuten nousuvesi ja tekstissä kehotetaankin hukuttautumaan omiin ajatuksiinsa ts. kohtaamaan ne. Myös tekstiltään erilainen kappale, aika kuvailevaa ja vertauskuvallista tekstiä tuli jostain. Vähän unenomainen tunnelma tekstin(kin?) puolesta biisissä."

"The fourth song called Levity is a song with a strong ambiance. After creating the beginning part of the song it didn't progress in quite a while. However the ideas seemed promising so I wanted to finish the song. Like most of the songs on the album it was finished around March-April 2016. Must be the most grooving song of SkiZma ever consisting of triplets almost from the beginning until the end. There's also a nice trick where the tempo changes. Quite positive and energetic charge in this song as well. Clean vocals (read: not-growling) almost throughout the song so there might be some parts which stick inside ones head. Chorus is again pop, I can see the lighters in the air moving with the same rhythm. In the c-section the climax of grooving is achieved with a quite entertaining riff. There's also some tricks with the tempo, quite mysterious vibe there. The last chorus is full of feeling, phew. Quite special song on the album due to particular kind of 'lightness'. After this song the album is halfway."

"The text was finished some time during the summer, its content was a question mark for a long time. Finally it started to clarify as I managed to tie a couple of things together and graphic started to perceive. The text is mainly about escaping from ones own thoughts and drowning them to figments of imagination, for example television or other kind of entertainment, constant touching of mobile etc. The thoughts come and go like tide and the text is encouraging one to get drowned to own thoughts, meaning facing them. The text is also different from the others, it's more describing and metaphorical. The ambiance is a bit dreamy in textual sense (too)."

"Kolmantena kappaleena +e. Ensimmäinen valmistunut biisi levylle, taisi olla marraskuuta 2015. Lyhyin SkiZman biisi koskaan, yhtyeen sisällä kantoi nimeä 'menninkäiset', valottanee hieman kappaleen luonnetta. Hyvin duurivoittoinen ylipirteä kappale, vähän sointumaailmaltaan hämyn jazzahtavakin. Rakenteeltaan hyvin suora biisi, mutta koukkuja on viljelty, ei pitäisi käydä tylsäksi senkään puolesta. Poppi kertsi, c-osassa taas sukelletaan jonnekin hämyiselle atomitasolle. Ei tästä muuta osaa sanoa, aika häiriintynyt kappale."

"Sanoitusten valmistumisen puolesta oli viimeisiä kappaleita kun vielä äänittäessä tuli aika radikaaleja muutoksia. Alkuperäinen idea taisi olla vähän erilainen ja se ei oikein istunut teemaan. Kuten nimi kertoo, tekstissä käsitellään elektroneja, suurempaa potentiaalia ja sen purkamista. Jonkinlainen positiivisuuden purkaminen kyseessä, elektronit virtaa ja tarkkailee tiedostaen itsensä. Teemaan liittyen tekstissä tapahtuu vapautuminen käytösmalleista ja mielen 'kahleista', jotka on opittu kasvuympäristöstä kun ego on nyt edellisen kappaleen myötä tiedostettu."

"Third song called +e. The first finished song on the album, guess it was sometime in November 2015. The shortest song of SkiZma ever, was called 'hobgoblins' inside the band, guess it says something about the character of the song. The song is very perky consisting mainly major chords with some jazzy vibe. The structure is very straightforward but there's some trickyness so should not get boring while listening. Chorus is quite pop, in the c-part the ambiance is like from atom level. I don't know what else to say about this, quite disturbing song."

"The lyrics were finished very late as some radical changes were made during vocal tracking. The original idea was a bit different so it didn't fit into the theme so well. As the name suggests the text is about electrons, high potential and its discharge. Some kind of discharging of positivity takes place, electrons flow and observe being aware of themselves. Regarding the theme there's happening some kind of freeing from the codes of behaviour and the 'chains' of mind which are learned from the cultural environment as one is now aware of the ego."

"Toinen biisu, Electron Generated Observer (tuttavallisemmin EGO tahi 360) on yksi henkilökohtaisesti onnistuneimmista tekemistäni biiseistä lätyllä. Kappaleesta löytyy rytmillisesti koukeroista, suht brutaaliakin ilmaisua, ihan silkkaa poppia ja ilmavaa kitaratunnelmointia. Alkunsa se sai joskus 2015 alkutalvella ja valmistui lopulta maaliskuussa 2016 eli sikäli ensimmäisiä ideoita levyllä. Jälleen pääasiassa yksi rytmillinen idea kantaa läpi kappaleen ja siitä revittiin aika lailla kaikki mehut irti. Biisissä kuitenkin riittää koukkua ja vaihtelua, ei voi sanoa tylsäksi. Sointumaailmasta tuli hyvin teemaan istuvaa, missä siellä nyt melodisuutta sattuu olemaan. Kertsi on varmaan popeinta SkiZmaa sitten kuuluisan ekan demon, olipa se jäämässä joskus poiskin mutta ehkä se toimii siellä muun sekoilun seassa. C-osan tuplakitaratunnelmointi haiskahtaa myös tuoreelta, ei ole aiemmin tullut tehtyä. Biisin alun yhtäläisyys erääseen Meshuggahin tuttuun biisiin on muuten tiedossa, siihenpä se plagiointi sitten jääkin. Ei onneksi osaa soittaa pidemmälle."

"Sanoituksissa riittääkin avaamista. Alkuperäinen idea tuli kun lueskelin kvanttiteoriaan liittyvästä kaksoisrakokokeesta. Kokeen lopputulema taisi olla, että jokainen 'havainnoija' vaikuttaa pelkällä olemassaolollaan ympäröivään todellisuuteen. Siitäkös sitä rock-lyriikkaa syntyikin. Levyn teemaan liittyen joukkoon on sotkettu egon 'paljastuminen' tälle havainnoijalle kun aaltoyhtälö 'romahtaa' järjenvastaisesti ja havainnoija havahtuu omaan erehtyväisyyteensä. Pientä tiedekritiikkiäkin sieltä on aistittavissa, tai ehkä ennemmin liiallisen rationaalisuuden kritisointia. Että sellainen sekasotku."

"The second song Electron Generated Observer (aka EGO or 360) is personally one of the most successful songs that I've made on the album. It's got rhytmical trickyness and some brutality, some pop and floaty guitar ambiance. It's got one of the first ideas on the album as it was initiated sometime in November 2015 and was finished in March 2016. Again, the song is almost based on one rhytmical idea so it was used in all possible ways. However, the song's got tricks and variations so can't blame the song boring. Chords fit to the theme well, wherever there's some melodicity. Chorus is the most pop since our famous first demo, it got almost left out but guess it was good to include to balance the messy song a bit. The double guitar thing in c-part of the song sounds nicely fresh, haven't done that kind of stuff before. By the way, the similarity between the beginning of the song and a particular song by Meshuggah is noted, that's the only plagiarism between the songs, luckily skills are not enough to keep going."

"It's probably good to open the lyrics of this song a bit better. I came up with the original idea when I was reading about an experiment related to quantum theory called 'double slit experiment'. I guess the result of the experiment was that every 'observer' affect on the surrounding reality only by existing. Which other subject you could write as much rock lyrics about? Regarding the theme of the album "emerging" of the observers ego is mixed in the same mess as the waveform of the function collapses in absurd way and the observer realizes ones imperfectness. There's a little criticism of science between the lines as well, or maybe rather criticism of excessive rationality. Quite a messy song."

"Lätyn ensimmäinen biisi Skin Deep on raskas pala heti alkuun niin musiikillisesti kuin sisällöllisestikin. Levy lähtee asiaankuuluvasti liikkeelle vähän djentahtavalla alkuriffillä. Melkein koko biisi c-osaa lukuunottamatta perustuu samalle rytmikuviolle pienillä varioinneilla, siis paljon toistoa ja myös tiettyä konemaisuutta kappaleessa. Kertsi on aika poppia, saattaa tarttua johonkin päähän - tai sitten ei. C-osan riffiviidakossa meinaa hommat karata käsistä, mutta laulu onnistui tuomaan jotain tarttumapintaa. Tunnelmallisesti ollaan jossain kummitusjunassa, pääkallot ja luurangot kolisee. Biisi taisi valmistua aika loppuvaiheessa joskus kevättalvella ja siihen tuli vielä lopulta pieni rytmimuutos, mikä ilahdutti erityisesti rumpalia äänitysvaiheessa."

"Sanoitukset olivat ensimmäisiä levylle syntyneitä vaikka osa tekstistä jäi kirjoitettavaksi vielä loppuvaiheessa. Lähtökohtana oli kirjoittaa teksti aiheena 'moni kakku päältä kaunis'. Tekstillisesti mennään vertauskuvin, levyn teemaan liittyen biisissä luodaan egoa elikkäs maalataan taideväärennöstä omasta peilikuvasta. Luurangot kalisuttelee komerossa eikä sisään tohdita kurkistaa ettei oma pakkeloitu peilikuva pääse särkymään. Onneksi maalina käytetään happoa ja ihonalainen todellisuus paljastuu. Teksti ottaa myös omalla tavallaan kantaa länsimaiseen ulkonäkökeskeisyyteen, jossa kauneusvirheet paikkaillaan mallimainoksien mukaan."

"As an opening track Skin Deep is heavy to digest considering music and content. The album begins properly with a djentish opening riff. Apart from c-part almost the whole song is based on the same rhytmical idea with a few variations, so quite a lot of repeating and machine-like vibe in the song. Chorus is a bit popish, might stick inside head - or not. In the riff jungle of C-part things are getting out of control but vocals simplified the part a bit. Ambiance is like from a ghost train, skulls and sceletons are clattering. The song was finished quite late during the writing process, maybe on March-April. Also, a little rhytmical change was made just before the drum tracking which made the drummer very happy."

"The lyrics were the first ones written to the album but they were finished quite late during the process as some changes were made. The initial idea was to write a text on a topic 'don't judge a book by its cover'. The text is very metaphorical, regarding the theme ego is created in the song so forgery is painted from ones own mirror image. Skeletons are clattering in a closet and one's being too scared to take a peek inside to prevent breakdown of the made-up mirror image. Fortunately formic acid is used as a paint and the skin deep reality is revealed. In a way the text speaks out about western appearance centricism in which blemishes are covered according to model advertisements."

"Vaikka pari biisiä valmistui ennen introa, tästä koko homma lähti  varsinaisesti liikkeelle. Raita pohjautuu hyvin yksinkertaiseen melodiaan, jonka päälle rakentui aika scifimäinen sointupohja. Välittömästi alkoi kuorot soimaan päässä ja samankaltaiseen sointumaailmaan pohjautuva kokonaisuus sai kovan alkusysäyksen. Lopputuloksena biisiin tuli aika vahva tunnelma, jossa pyöriskellään jossain avaruuden ja alitajunnan syövereissä. Alun perin ideana taisi olla sisällyttää intro ensimmäiseen kappaleeseen, mutta kappaleen pituuden ja selkeyden vuoksi oli parempi ottaa intro erikseen. Intro ja ensimmäinen biisi kuitenkin kuuluvat selkeästi yhteen ja toimivat jatkumona. Kappaleen lyhyet sanoitukset pohjautuvat muihin biiseihin ja toimivat johdatuksena teemaan, selkeä levyn intro siis kyseessä. "

After post-recording break let's get back on the subject. So the idea is, before the actual release, to go through the album song by song and explain how each song was created, what the lyrics are about and also reveal the graphic of the song. Here's the full song list of the album:

As the whole album theme was explained earlier let's start with the intro track of the album:

"Even though a couple of songs were already finished before the intro, this song gave the real inspiration for the whole theme of the album. The song is based on a very simple melody with quite sci-fi-like chords. Immediately I heard the choirs in my head and the idea of a whole album with this kind of vibe got a hard push forward. As a result the song has a quite strong ambiance, floating somewhere between the space and subconconsciousness. The original idea was to include the intro to the first actual song but for the sake of clarity and duration of the song it was better to keep them separate. However, the intro and the first song clearly belong together and create a continuum.
